The regulation
RENTRi
RENTRI officially rolled out last February, triggering a major overhaul in waste management for nearly all Italian businesses.
The mandate initially hit all waste recovery and disposal plants, waste carriers and brokers, as well as companies with over 50 employees producing hazardous waste or non-hazardous waste from industrial, artisanal, and water/fume/waste treatment operations.
Between June 15 and August 15, 2025, RENTRI enrollment opened up to waste producers with 11 to 50 employees, and from December 15, 2025, to February 13, 2026, the requirement will extend to small businesses with fewer than 10 employees.
